The Winter Chinook fishery is in prime time as anglers venturing out are finding out.

HOT SPOTS

Favada Point , Coho Point – Marshall Rock, Harwood Island, The Mill – Tla Amin, Westview. I have not had reports come in from Lund or Scotch Fr Pt- Thunder Bay however these areas are great Winter fishing grounds.

Lures and depth

Gibbs Skinny G’S, Loony Spoon, Spirit Spoon, Green Glow and Black glow hoochies. Fish your lures at 180-200 plus feet and you will catch. Favada PT ,Harwood and The Mill North have been the most consistent hot spots.

REGS

Chinooks are ranging from 8-12lbs and you may retain 2 per day 62cm or larger. Its good to get out through FEB-MARCH as regs will change April 1st. If you have never fished Salmon this time of year try and get out with someone who does and you will absolutely love it and if you catch you will enjoy some of the best best tasting fish… WINTER SPRINGS! RIGGERS REELS AND RODS

Well Lois lake is producing lunkers 15-25lbs however you will have to put your time in. Stop into PRO for some tips. Cranberry, Duck,Nanton and Dodd lake are all producing so try and get out. Love the new dock on Cranberry Lake.
